Frequently Asked Questions
What is PocketCherries™?
PocketCherries™ is a free browser-based Texas Hold'em poker training app. You practice against AI opponents and receive real-time coaching feedback on your decisions — no download or installation required.
Is it really free?
Yes, completely free. No sign-up, no paywall, no advertisements. All coaching features, strategy guides, and practice rounds are available to every visitor without restrictions.
How does the AI coaching work?
The coach analyzes your preflop selection, post-flop decisions, and completed rounds using GPT-4.1. It considers your table seat, holding strength, board texture, and wagering context to provide personalized feedback after every action.
What difficulty levels are available?
Choose Beginner Mode for simple explanations and hand-strength ratings in plain language, or Intermediate Mode for advanced analysis including equity calculations, implied odds, and GTO concepts.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. PocketCherries™ is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktop browsers. The interface adapts to your screen size automatically.
Where can I learn the rules?
Start with the How to Play Texas Hold'em guide, study the hand ranking hierarchy, or enroll in the free beginner course for a structured introduction.

Do I need to create an account?
No account is required. Simply visit the site and start playing immediately. Your session progress is saved automatically in your browser so you can pick up where you left off.
How many AI opponents are there?
You play against five AI bots at a six-max table. Each bot has a unique personality based on Phil Hellmuth's animal archetypes — Mouse, Elephant, Jackal, Lion, and Eagle — so every session presents different challenges and playing styles to adapt to.
Is my data stored on a server?
Game state is stored locally in your browser. We use anonymous Google Analytics for basic site usage metrics. No personal information is collected or transmitted to external servers beyond what is described in our privacy policy.
