Overview

PocketCherries™ is a free Texas Hold'em poker training application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect.

Data We Collect

• Gameplay data: Hand history and session progress are saved in your browser and on our servers, keyed to a random visitor ID, to track your learning progress and power the coaching.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site. This includes anonymous usage data such as pages visited and session duration.
• Visitor ID: The app generates a random visitor ID stored in your browser to link your sessions and coaching history. There are no accounts, and we never ask for your name or email.
• Phone number (optional): If you opt in to our texting feature, we store your mobile number, your consent, and the study notes you text us so the feature can work. Texting is optional and off by default.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
• We do not require real money or financial information.

Text Messaging (SMS)

PocketCherries™ offers an optional texting feature: link your US mobile number to text yourself poker study notes and receive coaching replies. You enroll only by checking an unchecked consent box in the "Link your phone" form and then confirming a 6-digit verification code we text you. We send verification codes, note confirmations, and coaching replies to texts you send us; we never send marketing or promotional messages. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for help. See exactly how consent is collected on our SMS opt-in page.

We use Twilio to deliver these messages; your phone number and message content are processed by Twilio solely to provide the feature. Coaching questions you text us are processed by OpenAI to generate the reply, just like our in-app coaching. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. Google Analytics may set additional cookies for anonymous usage tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

AI Coaching

Our AI coaching feature analyzes your in-game decisions to provide strategic feedback. Coaching requests are processed by OpenAI, and hand and session data are stored on our servers keyed to your random visitor ID so coaching history and hand reviews can work.

Third-Party Services

PocketCherries™ uses OpenAI's API to power the AI coaching feature; no personal information is included in those requests, and OpenAI's data usage policy applies to their processing. Stripe processes optional purchases, and Twilio delivers optional text messages, each solely to provide the feature. We also use Google Fonts to deliver the typefaces used throughout the interface; Google may collect basic usage data when fonts are loaded.

Your Rights

Aside from an optional linked phone number, we do not collect personal data. Clearing the browser's localStorage permanently removes all local gameplay data. If you linked a phone number, text STOP to unsubscribe or contact us to have it removed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with the updated date. We encourage visitors to review this page periodically to stay informed about data handling practices.
